How to get your workplace ready to beat COVID-19

August 02, 2021

Once again, businesses were asked to function remotely. COVID-19 has forced us to rethink our business strategies. But it is time to bounce back. You will eventually have your colleagues come in but how will you guarantee their safety? MeeHelp has got you covered.

Anything that poses a threat at work could directly affect their families back home. Employers should follow these protocols even is COVID-19 has not affected the people walking into your workplace. These measures will not only reduce the chance of getting COVID-19 but also reduce the time lost due to it and cause less stoppage in work.

Cleanliness

This should be of utmost priority at your workplace. Now more than ever. Make sure that surfaces like desks, tables, chairs, common eating areas, etc. and objects like telephones, keyboards, pens, door knobs are cleaned and disinfected regularly. This is because contamination through surfaces, if touched, is the fastest way of spreading the virus.

Hygiene

It’s important to promote regular hand-washing and sanitising by employees and customers. Ensure that you have placed a hand-sanitizer at the entrance or outside every door of your office. If possible, invest in a dispenser or a foot-stand to avoid touching it. Washing kills the virus on your hands and prevents the spread of the virus.

Promote respiratory hygiene

Respiratory hygiene would include covering your mouth while coughing or sneezing. Using your elbow, handkerchief or tissue and disposing it off safely. You must display posters promoting respiratory hygiene. Have a word with your team and educate them about the same. Ensure that you have sufficient supplies of tissue papers for anyone who might need it and a safe disposing method. Disinfect those bins regularly. A good respiratory hygiene practice prevents the spread of COVID-19. Also, DOUBLE MASK!

Follow Government Protocols on Business Trips

It’s important to follow every rule and law passed by the government with regards to traveling. These rules have been imposed keeping our safety and those of others in mind. Make sure that you have the necessary procedure followed that got yourself tested for COVID-19, double masked, worn gloves, carried a hand sanitizer, etc. Those employees who have returned from a business trip must monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days and take their temperature twice a day.

Educate your employees/ customers

It’s important that anyone who walks in is aware of the gravity of the situation and is honest. Explain to your employees that they need to be honest about their symptoms if they feel any. Check every person at the entrance for their temperature, oxygen levels and any prominent symptoms. You can ask them to take rest or even work remotely till they feel healthy.

Promote vaccination

Even though it is not compulsory to vaccinate, it is highly advised by medical professionals. As a professional community, it becomes your duty to be a part of our fight against the virus. Encourage your employees to get vaccinated and arrange a vaccination drive for them and their families.

Ensure that everyone has their mask on while working. Maintain a distance of 6 feet at all times. Sanitize often. Do not touch your face, nose and eyes. And keep your surroundings clean irrespective of the virus posing a threat. Check out our on-the-go app that provides domestic help in less than 60 minutes.
