Book by the hour
Hourly patient care during recovery at home
Book a patient care attendant through the MeeHelp app for the hours a family member who is unwell, recovering or bedridden needs hands-on personal care: washing, changing, turning and help to sit up or move.
Patient care is about the patient's condition, not their age. It is non-medical: attendants follow the doctor's instructions you give them, and anything clinical stays with a qualified nurse.

How it works in the app
- Patient care is its own task in an hourly booking, separate from elder care: choose it when someone is unwell or recovering and needs personal care.
- Bookings run for 2 to 12 hours, in 2-hour steps. Later start times allow shorter bookings only.
- Schedule at least 2 hours ahead and up to 5 days ahead, for a start time between 7 AM and 8 PM.
- The app checks your address — city, pincode and map location — and tells you if your area isn't covered yet.
- Each task shows what's included and what isn't before you confirm.
- You can ask for a male or female helper. The extra charge for this applies only if a helper of that gender is assigned; otherwise the first available helper comes.
- The helper's details appear once you've paid, and the job starts when you share the PIN shown in your app.
When people book hourly patient care
- A family member is coming home from hospital and the first days are hard to manage.
- The patient needs washing, changing or turning at set times.
- The family member doing the caring needs a few hours off.
- The patient's regular attendant is on leave.

What MeeHelp checks when a helper registers
When a helper registers on MeeHelp:
- Mobile number verified by OTPEach helper's mobile number is verified with a one-time password when they register.
- Aadhaar document collected and manually reviewedEach helper submits their Aadhaar document when they register, and MeeHelp reviews it by hand. The address on that document is available to MeeHelp.
MeeHelp reviews the helper's Aadhaar document to check their identity. It is not a police verification or a background check, and MeeHelp does not separately check where the helper lives — so follow the tips below as well.
Tips for your booking
- Keep the discharge summary, the doctor's instructions and the medicine schedule where the attendant can see them.
- Check the helper's details in the app before they arrive, and share the start PIN only when they're at your door.
- Approve the helper's entry with your society or building security before the booked time.
- Keep cash, jewellery and important documents locked away during the visit.
Hourly Patient Care: frequently asked questions
Can I book an attendant for the day of a hospital discharge?
Yes. Schedule the booking for when the patient is due home — at least 2 hours ahead — and share the discharge instructions with the attendant.
Is this nursing care?
No. Attendants give non-medical personal care. Injections, IV lines and wound care need a qualified nurse.
How is patient care different from elder care?
Patient care is attendant support for someone who is ill, recovering or bedridden. Elder care is daily-living help and company for an older person. The needs overlap, so describe the person's condition when you book.
What should I tell the attendant?
The patient's condition, how much they can move, the medicine schedule, warning signs to watch for and who to call in an emergency.
